A new line of racing wheels is about to be released for 2017. CAE Work was asked to optimize the weight of the wheels without compromising its strength. All the wheels are tested according 3 real world tests. The JWL testing (Rotary bending test, Radial load endurance test, Impact test). Due to a signed NDA, I am not able to give insight information, however I would like you to check out the new introduction of these amazing racing wheels. The design and stress test of a 4 bladed NiBrAl propeller. NiBrAl is a aluminium bronze material, it stands for Nickel, Bronze, Aluminum, not Nickel Broom and Aluminum as the ´Br´ would suggest. The propeller has been designed and tested up till 5000 RPM centrifugal force for material strength purposes and 5000 RPM in a water basin to see the water pressure on the blade at such high rotational speeds. These stresses could give a indication where the propeller could be optimized for strength purposes. Also the lift and drag characteristics of the current design are determined. Vibration in the propeller could be very dangerous. It is of importance to find the natural frequencies at which the propeller loses its structural integrity. 5 modal frequencies are found. In the surf industry there are always new developments. The hydrofoil is one of them. Not necessarily a new invention, however it is getting more developed and more people are picking it up, even more in the kite surf industry. A hydrofoil is generally a plane underwater that creates lift and pushes the surfer and its board out of the water. While doing that it reduces the total drag of the surfer, making it a smooth ride through the water. It’s like floating on clouds. This project is a collaboration between me and a very good friend. We both share the passion of surf and kite surf and it was about time to start a project within this scope. Some of the requirements are; -Low speed lift generation -Unstable lateral stability -Lightweight -Inexpensive Research 25% Engineering 20% Simulation...
